Best interview i've found so far, with Hint Magazine. Rick Owens comes across as a carefree spirit. He's so witty and doesn't take him self too seriously, whilst also telling the complete truth, which is so rare to find nowdays. I especially like the way how he is so involved in the production of his garments, going backwards and forwards to the manufacturers in italy. what an inspiration!!!
what i still need to look at:
Black and white films
70's underground pop culture
Serge Luttons
Salome
Life is a miracle by Emir Kusturica

Apparently Rick Owens also Dabbles in a spot of Interior design too!!
He designed a Furniture collection, which includes sofas, chairs and lighting made of resin, bones, concrete, plywood, cashmere and fibreglass. I really like the concept, i think its very in-keeping with his current collection edgy but aesthetically pleasing.
Peoples have mixed review with the majority being negative. I think the designs are beautiful and he's obviously a man of many talents.

Read an article on guardian.co.uk The Observer
'Le freak, c'est chic' dated Sunday 10 May, it talks about the opening of the new store in South Audley Street and where he gets his inspiration from i was interested to find out he looks at black and white films
"To do Hollywood glamour, but in a ripped T-shirt way. Black and white movies, but done in a leather and T-shirting way."
So i will be focusing on black and white films for my next bit of research. He also mentions 70's underground pop culture and fin-de-siecle art.
just watched this interview with Rick Owens, on Youtube. He's such a honest man with a strong point of view on just about everything.
I liked it when he said " what the fuck am i going to do with a collage i could do a collage, i need like old people who know how to make things.'
